About

What this is, and what it is not

What it is

A curated index. 87 resources across 42 topics and three levels, each one chosen because it is the best available explanation of a specific thing — not because it was easy to find. The plain-language concept cards are the only original teaching material here.

What it is not

Not a course, not a substitute for the linked material, and not affiliated with anyone. The people who wrote the linked resources did the hard work; this site’s only contribution is deciding what to read, in what order, and why.

How resources were chosen

  • Free by default. 81 of 87 cost nothing. Paid entries are included only where they are genuinely the standard reference, and always labelled.
  • Canonical links, not deep links. Every URL points at a project homepage, arXiv abstract or course index rather than a specific page, because those rot far more slowly.
  • Primary sources at the advanced level. Past a certain point, secondary explanations stop being better than the paper itself, so the advanced level links directly to the literature.
  • Hype gets flagged. Quantum machine learning and quantum advantage claims are included with the criticism attached, not without it.

Your progress

Marked-done resources and quiz scores are stored in this browser’s localStorage and are not sent to the application. There is no application account, progress backend or analytics — which also means your progress does not follow you to another device, and clearing site data erases it.

Currently: 0 resources marked done, 0 quizzes attempted.

Copyright, trademarks and attribution

Unless a page says otherwise, the topic summaries, resource annotations, concept explanations, quiz questions, selection and arrangement are original Quantum Study Map material. Resource titles, author and organisation names, product names and trademarks belong to their respective owners and are used only to identify and link to the referenced material. Their appearance does not imply endorsement, sponsorship or affiliation.

The site does not host copies of the linked books, papers, courses or videos. Links go to publisher, author, project or institutional pages wherever possible. If you own referenced material and believe a link, attribution or description should be corrected or removed, contact the site operator. Good-faith requests will be reviewed promptly.

Privacy

This application has no user accounts, advertising, analytics or third-party tracking scripts. As with any website, the hosting provider necessarily receives ordinary request information such as IP address, browser details and requested pages and may retain access or security logs under its own policy. Learning progress, quiz answers and theme preference remain in this browser and are not transmitted by the application.

Found a dead link or a better resource?

The content lives in four plain data files — src/data/topics.js, src/data/resources.js, src/data/concepts.js and src/data/quizzes.js. Adding a resource is one object with a title, URL and a list of topic slugs; it then appears in search, on every tagged topic page and in the right level track automatically.
